Our Story

Pennywise Rare Coins is privately owned and operated by Steve and Suzanne Lawson.  Steve began collecting coins with his father over 50 years ago.  With the help of his wife, Suzanne, Steve started a part time business as a coin dealer in 1989.  His goal was to encourage the interest in the history and value of numismatics, in particular U.S. coinage.  Beginning in late 2019, Steve and Suzanne decided to increase the activity in the business as a full time endeavor.  The plan is to provide quality rare coins to all levels of numismatists as well as continue to learn, and, in turn, educate collectors.
